A possible error in meeting procedure means the LSU System Board of Supervisors will again discuss the merger of LSU System president and University chancellor in December.
A letter from the Attorney General’s office notified the Board of a possible error that involved advertising the vote made at its October meeting that unanimously approved consolidation of the positions, according to a University news release.
“We were acting in the best interests of LSU in consolidating these two positions at that time in order to move forward the search for a new leader of LSU,” said Hank Danos, chairman of the LSU Board of Supervisors, in the release. “Since the LSU Board does not want there to be any question about this important action, we will reconsider and take action on combining the positions at our December meeting.”
