Man throws beer at Alabama fans
Following the Tigers’ defeat Saturday night, Bryan C. Saint, 28, was arrested after he yelled at a group of
University of Alabama fans departing Tiger Stadium, then threw a beer at them.
Around 11:15 p.m., an officer patrolling on South Stadium Road saw Saint throw the beer, said LSU Police Department spokesman Capt. Cory Lalonde.
The officer stopped and arrested Saint for simple battery.
Saint, of 1700 N. Duncan Avenue in Amite, was issued a misdemeanor summons and released.
Two Michaels arrested on Tiger Stadium field
Around 5 p.m. Saturday, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office officers were notified of two men on the Tiger Stadium sideline who shouldn’t have been there.
Officers approached the men, who were identified as Michael Sorce, 23, and Michael Kogut, 22, and determined they were in possession of all-access passes, Lalonde said.
The Michaels told officers they got the passes from an unknown person outside the stadium.
After further investigation involving LSUPD, officers learned the passes were stolen from LSU Athletics earlier in the day.
Sorce, of 5404 Franklin Ave. in Western Springs, Ill., and Kogut, of 1132 Birch Lane in Western Springs, Ill., were arrested for possession of stolen property and booked in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
LSUPD arrests nine for scalping tickets
From 1 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Saturday, plain-clothes LSUPD officers arrested nine people for selling football tickets for more than face value.
Six of the arrests were of out-of-state people — three from Texas, two from Georgia and one from Mississippi — while three were Louisiana residents, Lalonde said.
They were selling tickets from $175 to $250, and most of the tickets had face values of $70.
None of those arrested were students.
Lalonde said LSUPD doesn’t see this many scalping arrests during a typical game, but since the University of Alabama game had such a high profile, it wasn’t surprising.
