This week’s chart topper is Tame Impala’s Lonerism. Lonerism taps into progressive and experimental spirit of psychedelic rock, often associated with classic bands of the 60s and 70s, but make no mistake – they’ve found a way to fuse this with an electronic sound to create something magical. Dum Dum Girls’ EP “End of Daze” comes in second with its dark overtones and garage-rock roots. And holding the number three spot, again, is the Mountain Goats’ “Transcendental Youth.” This album is a mixed bag of songs with the feeling of seeing the best in bad situations.
