Update 2:48 p.m.: Facility Services has declined to comment on the incident at this time.

A student resting in the Quad Thursday afternoon was run over by a maintenance truck when the driver didn’t see him.

The Facility Services truck was in the Quad sometime after 1 p.m. when the driver rolled over either the student’s chest or head, according to witnesses. It isn’t clear what the truck was working on.

The student appeared to have injuries on his face but was conscious and standing after the incident.

LSU Police Department officers reported to the scene but refused to comment at that time. The victim and driver of the vehicle also refused to comment when approached by Daily Reveille reporters.

Attempts to reach LSUPD for further comment were not successful at this time.
