LSU Police arrested Keith C. Alexander, 42, of 1208 Joseph St., Baton Rouge Thursday when he turned himself for two alleged June 22 thefts according to an LSUPD press release.
On June 22 a victim’s backpack was stolen from the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, and later that afternoon, someone attempted to use this victim’s credit card at an off-campus retailer. During this investigation, LSUPD investigators received reports of another credit card theft from The Faculty Club, and someone attempted to use this card at the same retailer.
Through surveillance footage, investigators determined the same person made both of these transactions. They later identified Alexander as this person with the help of tips responding to a released picture of the suspect on July 3.
After LSUPD made this identification, Alexandar turned himself in, accompanied by his attorney. Alexandar arrested for two counts of possession of stolen things and two counts of unauthorized use of an access device card, both of which are misdemeanor charges.
