The LSU soccer team beat Houston 2-0 Sunday, after Hurricane Isaac forced a week off.
LSU (2-1-1) quickly scored in the fourth minute of play when freshman midfielder Heather Magee netted a 20-yard goal off of an assist from fellow freshman Fernanda Piña.
Freshman Jade Kovacevic scored the Tigers’ second goal, assisted in the 40th minute by redshirt freshman Victoria Sample.
Houston (2-3) scored in the second half, but the goal was taken away due to an offsides Cougar player.
LSU controlled the tempo for the majority of the game. The Tigers had six shots in both halves, while the Cougars had two in the first half and seven in the second.
“We’re happy to win the game and score a couple good goals,” said LSU head coach Brian Lee.
