Update 4:56 p.m.: The National Weather Service has placed East Baton Rouge Parish under a tropical storm warning.
Baton Rouge could see tropical storm conditions as early as Tuesday night, according to the NOAA.

Governor Bobby Jindal has declared a state of emergency in Louisiana as the possibility of Tropical Storm Isaac making impact on the state looms.
The University made a statement earlier today via social media accounts advising students that classes and events will remained scheduled as the LSU Emergency Operations Center monitors the storm’s activity.
The storm is suspected to intensify into a hurricane as it makes it way through the Gulf of Mexico.
The National Weather Service is currently projecting the storm’s landfall Wednesday morning somewhere near the border between Mississippi and Alabama, but a path through New Orleans is still a possibility.
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu has declared a state of emergency for the area.
The storm is currently hovering around the Florida Keys.
