Amid howling, sustained 40 mile per hour winds and driving rain, The Daily Reveille discovered at least four large trees impacting life in and around campus.
The first fell in the front yard of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house, encompassing the entire front of the house, narrowly missing crashing into the structure.
The second fell southbound on Nicholson Drive, nearly blocking the entire right lane. Motorists in the area avoided any accidents, swerving to miss the tree as Reveille photographers snapped away.
A palm tree is on its side in front of Evangeline Hall and another tree split in half and is down between University High School and East Campus Apartments.
