LSU head coach Les Miles reiterated Wednesday morning that the Tigers are “hunkered down” as Hurricane Isaac creeps into Baton Rouge.
Speaking on the weekly Southeastern Conference Coaches Teleconference, Miles said he gave players and coaches the choice of where to stay, some choosing their dorm rooms or apartments and others taking shelter in the football operations facility.
“They recognize this could be a significant storm,” Miles said.
Miles added the Tigers will not practice Wednesday and will monitor conditions to determine a schedule for the rest of the week.
No stranger to hurricanes, Miles was upbeat and holding out hope the opener would go off without a hitch.
“We recognize that North Texas is a quality team,” Miles said. “We’re looking forward to opening our season Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.”
