Anchor [Natalie Guccione]: Watching the LSU football team lose to Alabama in the BCS National Championship may have been painful to some people. But Reveille Radio’s Madison Guerriero reports it was a positive omen for the Tiger Girl Dance Team.
Reporter [Madison Guerriero]: Last time Alabama won the BCS championship, the Tiger Girls won a national championship in their hip-hop division. Sophomore Katie Morton said that the football team’s loss gave the Tiger Girls a bigger drive to return home with a National title for the Tigers. The Tiger Girls competed this past weekend in Orlando, Fla., placing second in hip-hop and fourth in jazz. Junior Natalie Legendre said she felt confident in her team because they had bonded so well practicing over the holidays. Instead of going home during the holiday break, the Tiger Girls practiced daily leading up to Nationals. Katie said it took a lot of hard work, but the time spent practicing was worth it. Although they did not take home a National Championship title, they said they will be back to win next year. Madison Guerriero, Reveille Radio News.
