(AP) — Tucked in the list of Gov. Bobby Jindal’s proposals to overhaul Louisiana education is a plan to rework the state’s uncoordinated system of prekindergarten and early childhood programs.
The state has programs scattered across agencies and funding types that don’t fit into Louisiana’s accountability system.
Jindal wants to grade the programs and yank licenses and funding for those that are deemed low-performing.
The proposals have gotten little attention so far amid other controversial ideas.
