The University’s core information systems that house data like student enrollment and financial records will be updated for the first time in decades, Chancellor Michael Martin said in a broadcast email Friday evening.
Martin said an update has become crucial as the University’s need for more advanced maintenance and modification technologies has grown.
“A new enterprise information system will support LSU’s business needs today and well into the future,” Martin said in the email.
The plan began last spring when Martin asked senior administrators to launch the LSU Enterprise Systems Replacement Initiative.
Martin also announced the University will streamline its procurement system, allowing for an online e-procurement marketplace. The launch is in partnership with SciQuest, Inc., under GradAct 2.0.
Both plans announced are still in development.
