LSU coach Les Miles held a press conference at the Football Operations Center Tuesday, squashing speculation of internal bickering before the BCS National Championship loss to Alabama.
Miles said there hasn’t been any negative interaction between players and coaching staff before any game this season.
Miles said he “gave thought” to playing senior quarterback Jarrett Lee during the game but thought Alabama’s pass rush called for a mobile quarterback, which senior quarterback Jordan Jefferson could provide.
Miles also addressed the lack of playing time for junior wide receiver Russell Shepard, saying he had number of plays to call for Shepard if the team had gained any offensive momentum.
Miles said he understands top quarterback recruit Gunner Kiel’s late change of heart after the prospect de-committed from LSU on Monday and enrolled at Notre Dame on Tuesday.
“There’s a guy in the Midwest that thought staying at home was the right thing,” Miles said.
