The LSU Lady Tiger Tennis team started the 2012 season strong in Evanston, Ill., recording 19 wins and 11 losses at the Wildcat Invitational this weekend.
“I was really pleased this weekend with our entire team’s play,” LSU coach Tony Minnis said. “We faced some really tough competition, so I was really pleased with our play overall.”
The Lady Tigers faced No. 12 Northwestern, DePaul and University of Illinois at Chicago.
LSU saw victories from Seniors Olivia Howlett and Whitney Wolf as well as sophomores Yvette Vlaar and Ariel Morton on Sunday, ending the Wildcat Invitational on a high note.
“Hopefully it will give us some momentum to start our dual match season next weekend,” Minnis said. 
The Lady Tigers begin their dual match season Sunday at the University of Colorado.
