After the University has been under the national media’s spotlight in the past few weeks, Chancellor Michael Martin danced under that spotlight today when he wrote a Washington Post column about that University’s press coverage.
The chancellor’s column said the national attention the University gained from athletics was encouragement for prospective donors and peaked the interest of prospective students, making the University an attractive place despite its budget woes.
“That is exposure that LSU could never have afforded to buy – especially in this era of budget cuts and diminished state support for public higher education,” Martin wrote.
