While students were out enjoying spring break, the School of Social Work announced some good news – a dedicated alumna made a big donation.
Margaret Champagne Womack gave $250,000 to a professorship named after her for addictive disorders.
The Louisiana Board of Regents will match Womack’s donation, which will raise the benefit to the school to $410,000.
“Margaret Champagne Womack’s support of the School of Social Work has been an essential component in the success of the program,” Christian Molidor, dean of the School of Social Work, said in a news release.
According to the release, the money will “support and enhance the Addictive Disorders Training Initiative.”
Womack graduated from the University in 1967 and received a master’s degree from the School of Social Work in 1988.
