LSU coach Les Miles said Thursday that junior quarterback Ryan Perrilloux could return to the practice field Monday. Perrilloux was suspended in February for violating team rules. The suspension was lifted earlier this week, but Perrilloux has yet to return to practice. “Right now he has the opportunity to make up six workouts, and he is making those up on a daily basis and trying to accommodate some responsibility to the team to be in shape when he takes the field eventually,” Miles said. “He still has some important academic work that needs to take place between now and on Monday when he will rejoin the team, and certainly, he is working to do those.” Miles said there is a chance Perrilloux could play in the April 5 spring football game. “At this point, he is doing things he should be doing,” Miles reiterated. “If things go right, there’s an opportunity for him to rejoin the team in practice after this week.” Miles also said he was happy with the 15,000 tickets that have already been sold for the spring game but said he would like to see more tickets sold to create a “game-like atmosphere” for the event. “I hope that this continues to become a tradition,” he said. “This will be a game-like venue as best we can, and we hope that the crowds will get bigger and bigger each year. This certainly is a weekend that you can put on your calendar.” Miles said he wants to have the game play out like an actual game, but also plans on taking some time out during the event to work on situational drills. “It will resemble a game,” Miles said. “It may not be a full game from the kickoff to the clock running in its entirety, but it’s going to be a good go in excess of 100 plays. It’s the spring final, and it’s a test that we take very seriously.” In this past season’s spring game, the white team defeated the purple team, 20-14. Former quarterback Matt Flynn was 11-for-22 passing for 135 yards and a touchdown.
