MathmaticiousI hate math, but I love this parody of “Fergalicious” starring a nerd rapping about math. I can’t help but think about Weird Al’s hilarious “White And Nerdy” parody. Very clever, and very funny. I definitely enjoy the “hold, hold, hold, hold, hold up. Check your work!” line followed by a dorktastic thumbs up. Nice.
Luff SongAw, a cute song sung by a hand puppet. I love the girl’s voice next to the ukelele, with cute lines like “You’re the Ren to my Stimpy, the olive to my glass.” I think it’s the buck teeth on the puppet that make it cute.
2008 Texas qualifying Michael McDowell Hard CrashI love watching crashes, and this is a great one. It’s got impact, flames, flipping and rolling. Fortunately, the driver survived, climbed out of the car and did not run around in his underwear a la Will Ferrell in Talladega Nights.
Manualist plays the rolling stones – start me up – on his handsRemember making farting sounds with your hands? This old guy has mastered it to the point where he can make music with it. The song is the Rolling Stones’ classic Start Me Up. It’s in tune and everything. Crank up the volume and annoy your roommates!
Still Hot And Still Streaming: Youtube Classics RevisitedDaft Hands – Harder, Better, Faster, StrongerI love this song by Daft Punk. This song, which was later sampled in the Kanye West hit “Stronger,” is nerdy electronica at its most danceable. Remember writing stuff on your knuckles and palms to make little stories? This is like that, but so much more. When it kicks off, the hands are dancing. Knuckles are shifting and fingers are lifting. New words are made by combining other words. It fits the spirit of the song, and the quirkiness of the French electronica duo in general, who I’m sure got a kick out of this video. It turned hand words into an art form, and it inspired dozens of remixes, remakesand new versions. Check out the “Daft Bodies” one, which is also cool.
