Trent Johnson: Dodgeball ChampDoes LSU have a dodgeball team? The University certainly has a dodgeball player in its new coach Trent Johnson. Coach Trent shows off his dodgeball prowess by hitting random office workers, revealing a fun-loving, yet aggressive, side John Brady never showed. I’m excited about our new coach, and once you watch this video, you will be too.
Spoon “You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb”Indie rockers Spoon’s catchy song gets an amazing music video thanks to a clever director and some layered strips of paper. There are two different kind of music videos – the kind where you ask yourself “why didn’t I think of that?” and the kind where you stare in amazement knowing you never would have thought of that, despite the thematic simplicity. It’s got a super catchy pop tune to go with it, too.
McCain Girls: It’s Raining McCainNumber of views at the time I watched it: 1,652,867. Average star rating: one. Can we really not take a joke? This hilariously corny tribute to the GOP’s best hope for 2008 is set to the tune of the Weather Girls’ 1982 disco classic “It’s Raining Men.” The video is clunkily-rhymed, poorly-sung and cheaply filmed. Question begged: Is the video ironic, or are the creators serious? More important question: For a video this funny, does it really matter?
Roadents Ep. 3 – Beef BarnOh man, this show looks great, featuring two animated rats arguing at a fast food drive through. It’s one of those clips that feels like a slice of life at its most entertaining, despite it being animated. You know people like these characters, even if you don’t remember who, exactly, they remind you of. It’s not extremely hilarious, but in one and a half minutes, it introduces two characters so well, you feel like you know their life story.
Still Hot And Still Streaming: YouTube Classics RevisitedLEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!Chris Crocker’s famous rant is about to hit 20 million views on Crocker’s page alone, not even counting views of the innumerable duplicates posted by other viewers or the countless edits, remixes and parodies out there. The out-and-proud transvestite uses his full range of vocal histrionics, from tearful sobs to ear-splitting screams, to convey his message to the YouTube world. In a way, Crocker is right. Attention whores like Britney Spears should be left alone, because the attention she gets only reinforces her deteriorating behavior. For a minute there, the spotlight abandoned Britney and moved to her biggest and most outspoken fan. Nowadays, Crocker is a celebrity in his own right, complete with lucrative media deals, a beehive of haters and controversy in the wake of his every move.
