Staples Foundation for Learning, Inc., a private foundation created by Staples, Inc., awarded a $10,000 grant to the LSU Foundation to a program promoting business education to high school students: “Developing Louisiana’s Youth through Entrepreneurship.”
The grant was given to the LSU Foundation to be used within the E.J. Ourso College of Business for the program, which helps “youth excel in the workplace by providing entrepreneurial education and opportunity recognition in high school,” according to an LSU Foundation news release.
The program is part of the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute within the Business College.
Designed for all students, the curriculum teaches high school students entrepreneurship fundamentals and allows those not pursuing college to understand “the basics for opening their own businesses.” Students attending a two- or four-year higher education institution may count the program course as three hours of college credit as an introduction to business.
