Victoria’s Secret representatives were at Mr. Gatti’s Pizza on Tuesday promoting its initiative themed “Recycle Your Sweats.” The team of representatives from Pink, a Victoria’s Secret brand, collected old sweats from LSU students to donate to the Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center – a shelter that provides services to domestic violence victims. Pink’s spokesperson, Sarah Hoekzema, said LSU was the first stop on the initiative tour. “We wanted to find a local charity so the community can see the effect,” Hoekzema said. The team will also visit the universities of Nebraska, Colorado, Kentucky and Ohio State University. This season’s campus tour is the fourth that Pink has taken on. “As we keep doing them, all these collections start to add up,” Hoekzema said. “Slowly but surely, it will make an impact. Plus it’s fun.” Hoekzema said LSU is a “great campus,” and Pink will “probably come back to LSU again.” Caroline Morrison, a vice president for Pink, said they are designing a collegiate line, which is specific to 44 colleges and universities. The Pink team did a photo shoot inside Middleton Library to add to a new catalog for the university collection. Morrison said they were also shooting a video advertisement to promote the new collection. Hoekzema said the catalog and advertisement will be released in July.
