Shannon Stein hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the eighth inning giving No. 15 LSU’s a doubleheader sweep of Arkansas on Saturday.
The three-run homer gave LSU an 8-6 victory in the second game of a double-header. LSU won the first game, 4-0.
The home run was senior’s second this season and third during her three-year stint with the Tigers.
The team moved their Senior Day celebration to Saturday because of the threat of rain on Sunday.
“It was kind of like a storybook day if you were ever going to script a Senior Day,” said LSU head coach Yvette Girouard in a news release. “It was a tough one to lose if you’re Arkansas, but we have been on the bad end of that a lot this year.”
The Tigers finish off the Arkansas series at 1 p.m. today in the final regular season game in Tiger Park before the team moves into a new ballpark next season.
But the victories Saturday clinched LSU a spot in the Southeastern Conference tournament, which will take place in two weeks in Tiger Park.
