The LSU Laboratory School ranked in the top 1,300 high schools nationwide in Newsweek.
The Lab School ranked 544th in the United States and was one of two high schools in the state that made the high marks.
Benjamin Franklin High School in New Orleans ranked 35th in the country.
Newsweek ranks schools by the number of students in Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and/or Cambridge tests taken by all students at the school in this past year. That number is then divided by the total number of graduating seniors.
The Lab School ranked 567th in the 2007 rankings, 208th in the 2006 rankings and 203th in the 2005 rankings.
