LSU and Texas A&M’s men’s basketball teams will face each other for the fourth-straight season, the Houston Chronicle reported Tuesday.
Texas and Michigan State will join the Tigers and the Aggies in a doubleheader scheduled for Dec. 20 at the Toyota Center in Houston, the Chronicle reported.
LSU men’s basketball team spokesman Kent Lowe confirmed late Tuesday night that the game will take place.
LSU and Texas A&M will play in the first game of the doubleheader, and Texas and Michigan State will play in the second.
This season will be the fourth in a row that LSU and Texas A&M will square off. The Aggies beat the Tigers, 79-53, this past season, and LSU beat Texas A&M at home, 64-52, in December 2006.
The two teams had a memorable meeting in the 2006 NCAA tournament, when former LSU guard Darrel Mitchell hit a 3-pointer with less than four seconds remaining to give LSU a 58-57 win.
