Japanese McDonalds Madness
This video is gaining notoriety for reasons I’m not very sure of. A bizarre video made from Japanese McDonald’s commercials, featuring a Japanese Ronald McDonald (unfortunately, no less creepy than the American one). This surreal montage is not for the faint of heart.
The Terrordactyls- Devices
Now this is more like it! This adorable song by a band called the Terrordactyls – featuring the shy whispers of guest vocalist Kimya Dawson (of Moldy Peaches and Juno fame) – has an incredibly adorable music video featuring singing safety scissors, kazoos and kindergarten arts and crafts supplies. Excellent!
Robot vs. Dog
A small robot fights a dog. It’s entertaining. Watching the robot move is pretty cool, and the dog’s reactions are funny. I could go into more depth, but I won’t spoil the fun. I think I want a robot now. And a dog, too.
Human LCD
Asians continue to impress me. These Korean high school fans use their shirt colors to produce intricate patterns and spell out words to cheer on their fans. It’s called “Human LCD” and I’m going to have to call for some of this in Tiger Stadium, because I’m pretty much floored by how awesome this is.
Still Hot And Still Streaming- YouTube Classics RevisitedCharlie The Unicorn
There are millions and millions of videos currently streaming on YouTube, but “Charlie Goes To Candy Mountain” could be the best one ever. Everything – the voices, the animation (especially the way Blue flips through the air) and the writing – is perfect. It’s an acquired taste (it’s one of those “you either get it or you don’t” videos, and it’s hard to explain to those who don’t get it) but this video is beloved by thousands. It continues to make me laugh long after the thousandth time. There has not been an official sequel, but that’s because lightning only strikes the same place once. But we will always have this masterpiece.
