LSU coach Les Miles indefinitely suspended rising junior quarterback Ryan Perrilloux for violating team rules. The Athletic Department announced the suspension Monday afternoon through a news release. “Ryan has been suspended indefinitely due to his failure to follow team rules,” Miles said. Perrilloux’s status for spring practice, which begins Feb. 29, has not been determined. Senior Associate Athletic Director Verge Ausberry told The Daily Reveille on Monday afternoon that Perrilloux is not facing legal trouble. “I don’t know all the details,” he said. “He’s going to meet with Coach Miles, and they’ll go from there. It’s nothing outside the football program.” Miles previously suspended Perrilloux in May after the Baton Rouge Police Department cited him for attempting to enter a casino without proper identification. Perrilloux also missed the Alabama game Nov. 3 after his alleged involvement in a fight at the Varsity Theatre. Miles dismissed reserve linebackers Derrick Odom III and Jeremy Benton from the team after they were linked to the incident. Monday’s announcement came after a weekend of Internet speculation that Perrilloux’s playing status was in jeopardy. LSU Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette told The Daily Reveille that Miles planned to meet with media Monday to discuss coaching changes. The press gathering was called off early Monday morning. According to the news release, Miles will not answer further questions concerning Perrilloux’s status.
