A football-sparked argument in Alabama after Saturday’s game ended in gunfire that left two dead, according to Alabama newspaper the Press-Register.Michael Williams allegedly shot and killed Dennis and Donna Smith around 7 p.m. at Williams’ residence in Conecuh County. Williams was arrested and charged with two counts of murder, officials said.Investigators said the incident began when Dennis Smith, an LSU fan, called Williams, a Crimson Tide fan, after the game. The phone conversation led to an argument.Later, Dennis and Donna Smith arrived at Williams’ home, where a physical altercation ensued between the two men, police said.Dennis Smith retrieved a pistol from his vehicle and threatened Williams, who in turn retrieved a shotgun and fired two blasts, killing Dennis Smith, officers said.Donna Smith then threatened Williams, who shot and killed her, according to police.Investigators said they believed alcohol was a factor in the killings.
