BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — First lady Supriya Jindal is urging parents to vaccinate their children, in new TV and radio ads designed to raise awareness about immunizations.
The media campaign is called “Every Child by Two.” The goal is to get 90 percent of Louisiana’s children vaccinated by the time they reach two years of age. The most recent National Immunization Survey shows only about 74 percent of Louisiana’s children were fully immunized.
The campaign will feature Jindal on posters and in radio and television ads pushing for child vaccinations. Greeting cards also will be sent to new parents with vaccination information.
Jindal is partnering with Shots for Tots, a coalition of doctors, nurses, university leaders, public health officials, volunteer agencies, churches and community organizations.
