STUDENT ARRESTED FOR ISSUING BAD CHECKA University student was arrested Thursday after allegedly issuing a bad check to the Bursar’s Office.Latrisha D. Davis, 23, of 902 E. Illinois Ave., Hammond, was charged with issuing a worthless check.LSU Police Department spokesman Capt. Russell Rogé said Davis wrote the check for $250.The LSUPD Detectives Division arrested Davis after the Bursar’s Office discovered the bad check.Davis was issued a misdemeanor summons and released.MAN ARRESTED FOR SCHEDULE 4 DRUGSA man unaffiliated with the University was arrested Tuesday after being caught with Schedule 4 drugs, including Xanax and a spoon with white residue suspected to be from opiates, Rogé said.Stephen C. Crittenden, 37, of 6505 E. Myrtle St., Baker, was charged with possession of Schedule 4 drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, a suspended driver’s license and a traffic violation.Rogé said Crittenden was parked in the middle of the road on Aster Street near the West Campus Apartments when LSUPD officers caught him.Rogé said Crittenden admitted he injected himself with OxyContin.Crittenden was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. SEVEN MEN ARRESTED FOR MARIJUANA POSSESSIONSeven people unaffiliated with the University were arrested last week for possession of marijuana.Harlan Chancey, 19, of 1283 Dean Ave., Baton Rouge, and John Faust, 18, of 4033 Convention St., Baton Rouge, were arrested Friday for simple possession of marijuana.Rogé said Chancey and Faust were arrested by the LSUPD Crime Interdiction Unit while they were smoking marijuana at the Carlotta Street Halloween Block Party.Chancey and Faust were issued misdemeanor summons and released.Sarah A. Tinkler, 19, of 7222 Magnolia Beach Road, Denham Springs; Garrett W. Zumo Belcher, 22, of 14340 Brown Road, Baker; and Maximo W. Lee, 21, of 11042 Harvest Ave., Greenwell Springs, were arrested Saturday at about 1:30 a.m. for simple possession of marijuana and simple possession of drug paraphernalia.Rogé said LSUPD officers saw a truck parked in Hart Lot with smoke coming out the windows.Officers then saw Lee with a plastic bag containing 3.5 grams of marijuana and smoking devices.Tinkler, Belcher and Lee were each issued a misdemeanor summons and released.Kahlil J. Gayles, 22, of 10754 Hillshire Ave., Baton Rouge, was arrested Saturday at about 3:30 a.m. and charged with simple possession of marijuana and simple possession of drug paraphernalia.Rogé said officers saw a car parked in Tiger Band’s practice field near Aster Street. After questioning the passengers, Rogé said Gayles gave officers a plastic bag containing 2.5 grams of marijuana and a metal grinding tool.Gayles was issued a misdemeanor summons and released.Seth E.S. Chancey, 21, of 1283 Dean Ave., Baton Rouge, was arrested Saturday at about 8 p.m. for simple possession of marijuana.Rogé said Chancey was walking around Fieldhouse Drive looking into cars when undercover officers questioned him.Rogé said Chancey was carrying a backpack containing beer and 4.6 grams of marijuana.Chancey was issued a misdemeanor summons and released.—-Contact J.J.
