The Office of Multicultural Affairs’ Safe Space Campaign will hold its first general training session with its new coordinator, Bruce Parker, tonight from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the African American Cultural Center. The University’s need for awareness of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community, and a previous lack of faculty commitment prompted program changes, some of which include catering training sessions to more specific audiences such as residential life. The campaign works to make the University a more stable place for LGBTQ students by providing resources, support and training to faculty and students who want to become Safe Space hosts and supporters, respectively.——Contact Margy Looney at [email protected]
