(AP) — LSU’s national champion women’s track and field team was honored at the White House, where President Bush recognized their victory at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past summer. Wednesday’s trip marked the first time since 2002 that the Lady Tigers participated in Champions Day. They were invited after the team won its 25th NCAA title in the program’s history. The team toured the White House and had a chance to take photographs with the president as part of the celebration.—-Contact The Daily Reveille’s news staff at [email protected]
