Sacramento City Community College defensive tackle Akiem Hicks has committed to LSU, according to Scout.com.The 6-foot-6-inch, 300-pound lineman committed to coach Les Miles on Sunday afternoon after taking an official visit to Baton Rouge this weekend. Hicks is rated a four-star defensive tackle by Rivals.com and the No. 20-ranked junior college prospect in the nation.Hicks is the fourth defensive lineman committed to the Tigers for the class of 2009 and chose LSU instead of offers from Oregon, Tennessee and Purdue among others. Other defensive line prospects already committed include Michael Brockers (Houston, Tx.), Chris Davenport (Mansfield) and Josh Downs (Bastrop).Hicks’ coach at Sacramento City C.C., Mike Clemons, declined to comment about his defensive tackle’s commitment until he could speak to Hicks more.
