Free ice cream, doughnuts and coffee are offered today at certain businesses, giving voters an extra incentive to reach the polls.Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Holdings, Starbucks Coffee and Krispy Kreme doughnuts advertised free products when customers visit on Election Day. Starbucks advertised Saturday a free small cup of coffee to customers who said they voted. But after some controversy, Starbucks posted on Twitter yesterday, “To ensure that we are in compliance with election law, we are extending our offer to all customers who request a tall brewed drip.” The Starbucks on College Drive is giving away a free cup of coffee to anyone who says they voted, said Sydney Knight a Starbucks worker. ——Contact Joy Lukachick at [email protected]
