LSU senior pitcher Dani Hofer will not pitch until January, LSU coach Yvette Girouard said Tuesday.Hofer suffered a right wrist injury last season that caused her to miss almost a month of the 2008 season. She had surgery in June to repair nerve damage and clear out “massive build up,” Girouard said.Girouard said Hofer is on a short throwing program as of now, limiting the amount of pitches she can throw in practice.”The progress is there, but it’s been slow,” Girouard said.Girouard said Hofer will not pitch in the Tigers’ fall scrimmages, which begin Oct. 17 against Nicholls State at Tiger Park.LSU’s regular season begins Feb. 5 against University of Alabama-Birmingham in the Paradise Softball Classic in Honolulu, Hawai’i.
