A man was arrested Friday morning on numerous charges after allegedly leading LSU Police Department officers on a short, on-campus car chase that started when the suspect broke through Easy Streets and struck an officer with his vehicle.Carlos N. Williams Jr, 26, of 12074 Newcastle Ave., Baton Rouge, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, hit-and-run driving, aggravated flight from an officer, criminal damage to property and simple possession of marijuana.Williams tried to drive through the Easy Streets gate on South and West Stadium drives by tailgating another car, said LSUPD spokesman Capt. Russell Rogé.The car Williams tailgated was an undercover LSUPD officer, Rogé said.An LSUPD mountain bike police officer stopped Williams, but Williams fled.The undercover officer got out of his car after he saw Williams trying to flee and stood in his path. Williams did not stop and hit the undercover officer with his side-view mirror, Rogé said.The officer sustained only minor injuries and refused medical attention.Williams then crashed through two Easy Streets gates while LSUPD officers chased him into the Nicholson Apartments parking lot, Rogé said.Officers arrested Williams in the Nicholson Apartments lot.A passenger in Williams’ car stayed put while Williams ran.Lorenzo Morgan Jr, 22, of 518 Charles St., Donaldsonville, was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons for simple possession of marijuana.Williams was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.STUDENT ARRESTED FOR DWIA student was arrested at about 2 a.m. Sunday for driving under the influence as a minor.Kyle D. Guillory, 19, of 345 Jennifer Jean Drive, Baton Rouge, was charged with careless operation and underage driving under the influence.LSU Police Department spokesman Capt. Russell Rogé said an officer stopped Guillory on Aster Street near Highland Road after he disobeyed a traffic signal.Guillory submitted to a breathalyzer test where he registered a 0.07 grams percent blood alcohol content. The legal limit for a minor in Louisiana is 0.02 grams percent.Guillory was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
