(AP) – Republican Senate candidate John Kennedy is hoping to get a boost in his election chances from popular Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.
A new 30-second ad that started running today shows the Republican Jindal talking of his support for Kennedy in the U.S. Senate race. Jindal calls Kennedy honest and not afraid to stand up to people.
Kennedy, the state treasurer, is trying to unseat Democratic incumbent U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu, who is seeking a third term in the Nov. 4 election.
Kennedy lags in the polls, but his campaign hopes visible support from Jindal can help push him ahead. Jindal is a rising Republican star nationally and has high approval ratings with voters in Louisiana.
