Residents of 43 parishes throughout Louisiana were able to apply for the Disaster Food Stamp Program between Sept. 9 and Oct. 2.Figures released Friday from the Louisiana Department of Social Services indicate East Baton Rouge Parish residents received $22,216,688 in total benefits from the program. The release said the benefits were granted to 68,080 households and 165,293 persons in East Baton Rouge Parish.The release said there were 3,331 denials in East Baton Rouge Parish.Final numbers will be available Monday afternoon, according to the release.—-Contact Lindsey Meaux at [email protected]
