The LSU men have been picked to finish in second place in the Southeastern Conference’s Western Division by a panel of SEC and national media members, the league announced Monday.Both Alabama and LSU finished with 11 first-place votes, but Alabama’s total of 151 points put the Crimson Tide ahead of LSU’s 147.Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn and Arkansas round out the list at third through six places, respectively.
Tennessee was picked to win the Eastern Division and the entire SEC.Two Tigers were also named to the preseason All-SEC team.Senior guard Marcus Thornton, who led the Tigers in scoring, and junior forward Tasmin Mitchell, who missed the bulk of the season with a foot injury, garnered the honors.
