BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The governing board of Louisiana’s “last resort” property insurer is considering a double-digit rate hike.
The board of the Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation is set to meet Monday afternoon.
On the agenda is a proposed 14 percent rate increase. That’s a statewide average, so if the increase is approved it would mean some policyholders would see lower costs, while others would see rates increase.
