The College of Music and Dramatic Arts is continuing to search for a new dean. The original search began in spring 2007 with former dean Donald Ross’ retirement. It was restarted this fall in the hopes of finding someone more suited to the college.Deadline for applications was Sept. 10 and the committee has been in the process of doing “airport interviews” over the past month, said Jane Cassidy, interim associate dean of College of Music and Dramatic Arts. Airport interviews, she said, are quick, in-person interviews usually lasting about an hour. After this first round of interviews is finished, applicants will be invited to campus to meet with students, faculty, and staff. The committee is trying to get most applicants to campus for the week of Oct. 20.Committee members say they are excited about the applicant quality and quantity.
