Gov. Bobby Jindal replaced Board of Supervisors members Charles Weems and Hal Hinchliffe with R. Blake Chatelain and James Moore, respectively, Tuesday night.
Weems had been the longest-serving member of the Board, having been appointed in 1991. Hinchliffe had served two years on the Board after completing an expired term.
Chatelain and Moore were both contributors to Jindal’s gubernatorial campaign, each giving at least $5,000, according to The Advocate.
Board Chairman Jerry Shea told The Advocate he was shocked Weems was not reappointed.
“It’s going to be a loss for the board because he’s the most experienced member we’ve had,” Shea said.
Chatelain is the president and CEO of Red River Bank and also the vice chairman of the Cenla Advantage Partnership. Moore is a former owner and president of Moore Oil Co., and an owner and developer of Hilton and Marriott hotels.
