I appreciate the coverage of my play, “Father Chief Justice,” in Friday’s edition, but there are two glaring errors, which I trust you will correct.Charles Evans Hughes was undoubtedly the greatest Chief Justice in the Twentieth Century, not White. I mentioned Hughes’s ranking in quoting Hughes and praising our Student Bar Association President Jeffery Coreil, “An institution takes it’s tone from the top.” Your reporter attributed my ranking to the wrong Chief Justice. And Chief Justice Calogero performed his role in Bram v. US, not Brown v. US, as the article says. I was informed that Chief Justice Calogero returned to the Louisiana Supreme Court after his performance, “all aglow.” I appreciate deeply the interest in Chief Justice White that the performance attracted. It’s a rare thing to fill up a classroom in celebrating the Constitution. I like to think that at the Law Center we know what is important, both athletics and the United States Constitution. Paul R.
