STUDENT ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSIONA University student was arrested Saturday for trying to enter Tiger Stadium with marijuana.Tristan J. Moreau, 19, of 109 Dolby St., Lake Charles, was charged with simple possession of marijuana.Capt. Russell Rogé, LSU Police Department spokesman, said LSUPD detectives searched Moreau as he was trying to get into Tiger Stadium through the student gates.The detectives found 6.3 grams of marijuana hidden inside the waistband of Moreau’s pants, Rogé said.Moreau was issued a misdemeanor summons and released.MAN CAUGHT WITH BURGLARY TOOLSA man unaffiliated with the University was arrested Thursday at the Natatorium after complaints of panhandling.Eric L. Pugh, 50, of 715 East Polk St., Baton Rouge, was charged with possession of burglary tools and “remaining after being forbidden.”Rogé said LSUPD responded to a call at the Natatorium about Pugh begging people for money. When officers approached Pugh, he tried to throw a pair of cutting pliers, and officers discovered Pugh was previously banned from campus.Rogé said Pugh has a history of breaking into vehicles and buildings.Pugh was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.MAN ARRESTED FOR CRIMINAL TRESPASSINGA man unaffiliated with the University was arrested Wednesday for criminal trespassing.Willie G. Ellis, Jr, 44, of 644 Terrace St., Baton Rouge, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and “remaining after being forbidden.”Rogé said officers saw Ellis walking around the West Campus Apartments parking lot and stopped him for information.Officers found three smoking pipes on Ellis, and he admitted to smoking crack cocaine in the pipes.Ellis was previously banned from campus in 2006.He was issued a misdemeanor summons and released.—-Contact The Daily Reveille’s news staff at [email protected]
