Volleyball names captainsVolleyball coach Charita Stubbs named two captains to help oversee her team this season. Stubbs selected sophomore setter Alex Smith and junior Arlee Tamietti as captains for the 2008 season.
Smith emerged as the starting setter last season as a freshman, leading the team with 864 assists in 105 games.

Basketball gets early startThe men’s basketball team began its first of 10 practices Monday in preparation for an exhibition trip to Toronto on Aug. 29.
The Wolfpack will play York University on Aug. 30 and University of Guelph on Aug. 31, returning to Raleigh on September 1.
