Redshirt freshman quarterback Jarrett Lee has been sidelined with a minor leg injury, LSU coach Les Miles said Monday after practice.
Lee suffered a mild soft-tissue injury Saturday afternoon in one of his legs. Miles did not specify which leg or what part of the leg was injured.
Miles said Lee is staying out of practice for “precautionary” purposes.
“It is not surgical; it is a rest issue,” Miles said.
Miles did not give a specific timetable for Lee’s return but said he expects Lee to return to practice in “short order.”
“I don’t know what length of time short order is,” Miles said.
Miles does not expect the injury to derail Lee from competing for the starting job.
“He was having a great day on Saturday,” Miles said. “I would not suppose that it would hinder him in pursuing the job.
OFF-FIELD TROUBLE
Redshirt freshman defensive back Stefan Francois is facing disciplinary issues and is not currently practicing, Miles also said after Monday’s practice.
Miles did not specify if Francois had been suspended.
“I’m not ready to say that just yet,” Miles said. “We’ll have to look into how we’ll go from here.”
