Hurricane Gustov is now a dangerous category-4 storm as the storm continues to gain strength over the warm water in the Caribbean.
The National Hurricane Center issued a special advisory update this afternoon, saying this “extremely dangerous” hurricane “continues to strengthen and now has maximum winds near 145 mph.”
The latest track has Gustav making landfall around midnight Monday in south central Louisiana.
An updated forecast track will be available from the NHC at 4 p.m.
