In an effort to reduce heat-related accidents during the football season opener, Tiger Concessions will run a two-for-one special on bottled water during the Aug. 30 opener in Tiger Stadium against Appalachian State.
Larry Wallace, director of concessions, said because of the game’s 4 p.m. kickoff and expected temperature, University Dining and Concessions determined this action was necessary to counteract heat exhaustion.
“We wanna do what’s right,” Wallace said.
The Weather Channel forecasts a high temperature of 90 degrees.
