Baton Rouge is under a hurricane wind warning and a flash flood watch, the National Weather Service announced Sunday.
The official forecast for the area calls for heavy rain Monday and a northeast wind 30 to 35 mph increasing to between 45 and 65 mph. Winds could gust as high as 85 mph, the NWS said.The NWS said Hurricane Gustav is projected to dump 6 to 12 inches of rainfall with isolated pockets of 20 inches possible.
