The investigation of a former LSU Police Department officer accused of viewing child pornography is ongoing, FBI officials said.Special Agent Sheila Thorne, FBI spokeswoman, said the investigation against LSUPD Sgt. Thomas Fife is under way and could not release further information.LSUPD Sgt. Joe Thompson said on July 10 a computer under the username “tfife” was accessing the Internet and viewing still images of “animated child pornography,” according to a federal affadavit.Federal law defines “animated child pornography” as computer generated representations of children engaging in sexually explicit conduct.LSUPD began installing Spector 360 — a monitoring software that records Web sites visited, e-mails, chats logs, keystrokes and files transferred — to all of the LSUPD-owned computers July 9, Thompson said in the affadavit.LSUPD Lt. Jared Myers saw screen shots of Fife’s computer from July 9 with an image depicting a female child having sex with a man while performing oral sex on a second man, according to the affadavit.Fife, who served for LSUPD for 21 years, was put on administrative leave July 19, said LSUPD spokesman Maj.
