AUBURN, Ala. — The LSU men’s and women’s diving teams completed the third and final session of the Auburn Diving Invitational Saturday as senior Niko Dalman and freshmen Matt Vieke and Chelsea McCorvey competed on the 10-meter platform for the Tigers. Dalman scored 315.80 points on six dives in his first platform competition of the season to register a fifth-place finish, while Vieke posted a 219.35 mark to place seventh. On the women’s side, McCorvey took sixth in her first action on the 10-meter tower this year. “Today’s session went good,” LSU diving coach Doug Shaffer said. “The platform isn’t our strongest event yet, but from a developmental standpoint and what we’re doing with our training, it was definitely a step forward. “This was a successful weekend for us on all three days. We’ll take some time off with our families for the holidays, and then, we’ll get ready for the first of the year and the Tennessee Diving Invitational.” Alabama’s Carrie Dragland clinched a sweep of the women’s diving events Saturday with her victory in the platform. Auburn’s Daniel Mazzaferro won the men’s title with a score of 425.95.
